Today’s main point of attraction was a visit to the Sterling Mine Museum. The tour took about two hours. They have a great museum and some excellent geological specimens. We purchased a few agate slices to make a wind chime.
The most impressive part of the visit was in a non-descript area of the property. Embedded in concrete with a small plaque at the base was one of the twisted steel beams from the World Trade Center.
From there we drove to Morristown and found Washington’s Headquarters. We didn’t make it in time for a tour, but we did spend a few minutes in the adjacent museum. The museum had a great collection of documents and period weaponry.
